The new Dobot range including the Magician Robotic Arm & Kits

We're extremely excited to announce that we now stock Dobot products, specifically the Magician range of robotic arms and accessories which you can find out more about below. Dobot are a relatively new company with strong background in Robotics Engineering, they initially gained traction via their hugely successful kickstarter and have since gone on to develop a range of other products including the Magician Robotic Arm.

The Dobot range has had extremely high praise, most notably when Theresa May, the UK Prime Minister, spoke highly of DOBOT Magician during her visit to China in January 2018. The Prime Minister said that DOBOT Magician has great potential to facilitate the development of education in both UK and China.

Dobot Magician Robot Arm (Basic & Educational Versions)

The Dobot Magician is a highly advanced multifunctional robotic arm, it was specifically designed to fit into a range of difference environments from the classroom to a sophisticated production line. The Magician comes with a range of end effectors for different uses including 3D printing, laser engraving, writing/drawing as well as a pneumatic griper and suction cup. 

Don't worry there's plenty of room for development with the Dobot Magician, with 13 expansion interfaces and support for over 20 programming languages the possible uses are almost endless. Control it via PC/Mac, phone, gesture and voice control. The handhold teaching feature lets you control the arm without any technical knowledge. The Magician’s controlling software DobotStudio has so many integrated features and functions for the different end effectors, all while still managing to make it easier to control a robotic arm than ever before.

We sell both the Basic and Educational versions of the Magician, the Educational version includes everything from the Basic version as well as a few extras! It also includes the Laser Kit allowing you to engrave personalised patterns on various materials like leather, wood and many more. The additional WiFi and Bluetooth modules allow for even more ways to communicate with the robotic arm and the Joystick Kit provides an additional unique way to control the arm.

Dobot Robot Vision Kit

The Vision Kit provides a hardware platform for robot vision system development using an industrial grade camera and lens. You can set up the vision kit with the Dobot Magician and start learning how to integrate vision systems with robot automation systems in no time. With the kit you could also venture into areas such as artificial intelligence algorithm development and simulation, or develop vision based industrial applications.

As well as examples of basic robot vision application software, Dobot also provide the foundation source code to help you learn and get started with robot-related software development. 

Dobot Robot Production Line Conveyor Belt Kit

The Conveyor Kit allows you create a complete production line easily. The Conveyor belt has adjustable speed, a distance and colour sensor, when combined with the powerful and programmable Dobot Magician it makes for a complete professional system.  These are the ideal essentials for you to create a highly effective simulated production line, or even to apply to actual factory scenes.

Dobot Robot Linear Sliding Rail Kit

This Linear Sliding Rail Kit gives you access to even more potential uses for the Dobot with an additional 1 metre of horizontal working space. This additional space allows the Magician to be fully extended and do large-scale tasks, such as long-distance picking and placing, a large range of writing, drawing or laser engraving.

Volkswagen has created a small scale version of a full production line simulating a real car being assembled. In each section there is a screen demonstrating the real life situation. This system was designed to be shown in the training of new employees. It aims to help show the process of intelligent welding and automatic installation in automated manufacturing. This simulated production line uses 6 Dobot Magicians and 3 Linear Rail Kits to great effect.
