This MOSFET power control kit is basically a breakout for a RFP30N06LE MOSFET. We give you terminal blocks for connecting wires in and out of the board and a 10k resistor. If you've wanted to use a MOSFET, but need a better way than your breadboard, check out this little kit.

What we really like about this particular MOSFET is that it's very common and offers very low on-resistance with a control (gate) voltage that is compatible with any 3-5V microcontroller or mechanical switch. This allows you to control high-power devices with very low-power control mechanisms.

Using MOSFET Power Control Kit (COM-12959)

Unit worked fine. Really needs a small piece of paper showing how to assemble and a guide to increasing current capacity (should you need to). A warning that the negative is switched leaving the positive always live could save someones project.

MOSFET Power Control Kit

I purchased this from Cool Components to facilitate the switching on/off of a lighting unit for a motion activated Gopro 5 Camera. The camera turns on when movement is detected and stays on for a pre-set time. The MOSFET Power Control switch, is used to trigger a 12 volt Led Video light that will stay on for the duration that the Gopro is recording. The small Power Control Kit, is absolutely perfect for this project as it will accept lower voltage triggers in the region of 3v. Easy to build and a great quality product.
