Smartphones are the default type of phone nowadays and they're a staple in most peoples lives but have you ever wondered how the idea first came about? General Magic was spun out of Apple in 1990 and aimed to transform the use of the telephone. They aimed to create what they called an "anytime, anywhere communications device", they ultimately created was one of the first Personal Digital Assistants (PDA). But although General Magic as a company failed, the vision, the concepts and the people who pioneered them went on to change everything.
A recent documentary was aired a the Tribeca Film Festival which aims to shed light on the events surrounding the companies birth, creations, and eventual death. The trailer is definitely worth a watch and we'll be waiting to watch the full film upon release.
