The Pan and Tilt shield gives your OpenMV Cam the ability to control three servo motors (or ESCs) directly along with providing an extremely flexible powering option for your OpenMV Cam such that you can:
- Power your OpenMV Cam via using an unregulated battery by regulating the battery voltage down to 5V along with providing 5V to all four servo headers.
- Power your OpenMV Cam via the servo headers from an ESC which can be supplying 5V-6V to the OpenMV Cam and servos.

The Pan and Tilt shield provides a great way for you to wire up your OpenMV Cam into a standard RC car system. It was designed as a way to allow your OpenMV Cam to directly control servos versus through an external chip while providing a flexible way to power your OpenMV Cam and servo motors. For the RC car example, simply connect your ESC to servo header S0 and your turning servo to S1 and the Pan and Tilt shield will distribute power to your OpenMV Cam and the turning servo from your ESC along with allowing your OpenMV Cam to control the ESC throttle and turning servo angle.
