The Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh USA has developed Ballbot, a single-wheeled dynamically balancing robot that is completely mobile.
Both of its 7-DoF arms are capable of holding a max weight of 10kg at maximum extension, and thanks to the highly integrated sensor-actuator-control units in each joint, lightweight exoskeleton structure, and anthropomorphic kinematics, they are both comparable to the state-of-the-art robotic arms on the markets today!
