The Chinese state-run press agency Xinhua recently debuted their first AI news anchor. They state that it is created from digital models of their human news presenters but other than that they have said very little about the technology behind the creation of the video. The video created is not quite perfect yet, if you pay close attention to the video you can see a couple imperfections/glitches in the facial expressions. It's not yet clear where the news company will take this technology or what they will use it for but it's yet another example of how AI is being integrated into everyday life.
