Conserve The Sound (CTS) is an online museum dedicated to remembering sounds that are vanishing or become less frequent in modern life. They already have a decent sized catalogue of sounds with everything from an old electric razor to the unfolding of a city map.
The museum is currently being funded by the Fim & Medienstiftung NRW in Germany and plans on continuing to grow their collection of sounds. Head over to the CTS website for some nostalgic sounds, it might even make you miss some sounds you didn't realise were gone from modern day life.
