Meet LEMUR (Limbed Excursion Mechanical Utility Robot) designed by NASA. It is designed to scan for signs of life and able to reach places on the Moon and Mars that other robots are unable to. In this field test held in Death Valley earlier this year, it scaled the cliff while scanning for fossils in the rockface.

Each of its 4 limbs is fitted with hundreds of tiny fishhooks on each of its fingers providing a strong and secure grip to the rocky surfaces.
